Visit a Working Life Member Site

Working Life member sites on our suggested 2 day touring trail.

Trail 2 takes in the Bunbury and Collie areas.

DAY 1
From Perth, travel to the entry point of the Working Life trail, site 1. the Yarloop Steam Workshops then on to sites 2, & 3 ending up for an overnight stop in Bunbury.

DAY 2
Experience the quaint 120 year old King Cottage which contains many artfacts  and furnishings from the period 1880 to 1920. Travel  to Dardanup and  to see the world class heritage display showcased at site 5. the Dardanup Heritage Park and then experiencing sites 6,7 and 8. Overnight in Collie to continue the next leg of the Working Life heritage trails.

1. Yarloop Steam WorkshopsYarloop
Journey back in time to see the lovingly preserved timber and railway workshops. Experience a fascinating working steam engine collection.
2. White Rocks FarmBrunswick
Visit the museum depicting pioneering days and see the collection of horse-drawn farm machinery and old dairy equipment.
3. AlverstokeBrunswick
Discover life on a restored pioneers dairy farm, accompanied by resident farm animals and native wildlife. The Tranquil country setting is steep in history, the unique attractions within the grounds adds atmosphere and interest to every event.
4. King CottageBunbury
For all the local history visit King Cottage which is only located 5 minutes out of town.
5. Dardanup Heritage ParkDardanup
Located in Dardanup approximately 15 minutes out of the city. The park is one of Australia’s finest collections of heritage items dedicated to our pioneering past.
6. Wellington DamCollie
The Wellington Dam constructed in 1932, has an extensive pioneering history and heritage.
7. Coalfields MuseumCollie
Located in the historic Roads Board Building this museum houses a wonderful collection of memorabilia.
8. Collie Historical Rail PrecinctCollie
Restored heritage listed Railway Goods Shed containing artefacts and photos.
